100 Black Parents

Our “100 Black Parents” program is designed to advocate for educational opportunities and resources for black parents and their school-age children. We understand that access to quality education is essential for breaking down systemic barriers and creating a level playing field. Through this program, we offer a range of support services, including mentorship, workshops, and access to educational resources, to empower black parents in their crucial role as advocates for their children’s academic success. We believe that by equipping parents with the tools they need, we can work together to eliminate educational disparities and ensure that every child has a fair chance to thrive.

Our Mission

Service is a Lifestyle is committed to empowering Black and BIPOC communities through advocacy, education, and action. Our mission is to dismantle systemic barriers and foster equitable opportunities by nurturing parental involvement in education, promoting civic engagement, and advocating for homeownership. We strive to inspire and support individuals and families to become active architects of their destinies, creating a legacy of knowledge, participation, and stability for generations to come.

Advocacy

Championing the rights and needs of marginalized communities, we work tirelessly to influence policies and create equitable opportunities for all.

Education

Empowering individuals and families through access to knowledge and resources, fostering a culture of learning that drives personal and community growth.

Action

Inspiring community members to take initiative, we believe that meaningful change occurs when individuals actively engage in service and support one another.

"At Service is a Lifestyle, we believe that true change begins with each of us taking action in our communities. By empowering individuals and families through education, civic engagement, and home ownership, we can build a legacy of resilience and equity that uplifts generations to come."

Black Legacy Homeowners

Our Black Legacy Homeowners Initiative aims to promote homeownership among black individuals and prevent gentrification through homeownership preservation. We understand the importance of stable housing and its impact on wealth creation and community cohesion. Through advocacy, education, and financial support, we assist black individuals in realizing their dreams of homeownership and provide resources to help them maintain their homes. By empowering black homeowners and preserving the cultural fabric of communities, we actively combat the negative effects of gentrification and promote sustainable, inclusive neighborhoods.

Our vision is a society where service to others is woven into the fabric of everyday life, and every individual has the resources and support to thrive. We dream of a world where educational disparities are eradicated, civic participation is universal, and homeownership within Black communities is a cornerstone of prosperity and heritage. “Service is a Lifestyle” envisions communities united in action, empowered by collective efforts, and uplifted by the realization of Martin Luther King Jr.’s timeless question: “What are you doing for others?”

UrbVote

With our “UrbVote” initiative, we are committed to promoting civic engagement among inner-city BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) youth and advocating for the voting rights of previously incarcerated citizens. We recognize that civic participation is vital for building a more inclusive and equitable society. Through targeted outreach, workshops, and community events, UrbVote encourages young individuals to become active participants in the democratic process. We also work tirelessly to ensure that individuals with a history of incarceration have their voting rights restored, enabling them to reclaim their voices and contribute to shaping our shared future. Together, we can strengthen our communities by ensuring that every voice is heard and represented.
